The fine print, in plain language

Risk disclosure

Last updated: September 24, 2026

The short version: Past performance is not indicative of future results. Trading involves risk of loss, including loss of principal. Everything we publish is education, not investment advice, and Marcus Ashcroft is not a registered investment advisor. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose.

We put this page one click from every page on the site because in trading education, the honest version of the fine print is the credibility. Read it before you enroll — and if any academy makes it hard to find theirs, ask yourself why.

1.General risk of trading

Trading futures, index products, equities, options, and other financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss, including loss of principal, and is not suitable for every person. In leveraged products such as futures, losses can exceed your initial deposit.

Only trade with risk capital — money you can afford to lose without changing your standard of living. If losing your trading capital would materially affect your finances, do not trade it.

2.Educational content only

Ashcroft Trading Academy provides content for educational purposes only: courses, commentary, examples, and mentorship about trading methodology. Nothing published by the academy — on this website, in the course, in the Signals Desk, in the Inner Circle, or in the community — is financial or investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument.

Trade ideas published by the desk are educational demonstrations of the methodology being taught. They describe how the instructor is applying his own process to his own account. They are not instructions for your account.

3.Not a registered investment advisor

Marcus Ashcroft is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and Ashcroft Trading Academy is not registered with the SEC, CFTC, NFA, or any other financial regulatory authority.

Nothing on this site should be interpreted as personalized financial advice. For advice specific to your situation, consult a licensed professional who is legally accountable to you.

4.About the performance figures on this site

All performance figures shown across this website are historical results from one trader’s personal journal — the instructor’s own account — reconciled internally against broker statements, net of commissions and fees. They have not been audited or verified by any third party, and they include losing months because that is what a real record looks like.

These results are not typical, not guaranteed, not a projection, and not a promise. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Your results will depend on your capital, risk tolerance, discipline, market conditions, and factors nobody controls.

Student statistics shown on this site (enrollment counts, trades reviewed) describe participation in the academy, not student profitability. We do not track or represent student trading returns.

5.No guarantees

Completing any Ashcroft program does not guarantee profitability. No methodology, course, signal service, or mentorship can guarantee trading profits, and you should treat any service that claims otherwise as a red flag — including ours, if we ever did.

The 14-day refund guarantee on The Ashcroft Method is a refund of the course fee. It is not insurance against trading losses.

6.Your responsibility

Every trading decision you make is yours alone. Before trading, you are responsible for understanding the instruments you trade, the rules of your broker and jurisdiction, and the total risk of each position you take.

By using this website and enrolling in any Ashcroft Trading Academy program, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclosure and that you accept full responsibility for your own trading decisions and their outcomes.
